Hello. My name is Mélanie Kimmett. I'm a designer & illustrator based in Vancouver, Canada specialized in conceptualizing identity + brand design, print publication and illustration.
I like to think of myself as a dreamer and chameleon of sorts. I love all forms and styles of design and illustration but get really excited about brave, modern shapes and confident colour-combinations, intricate hand-drawn fonts and layered geometric patterns. Fashion, architecture, music and healthy living are what I consider my biggest influences and ultimately where I like to focus my work.
I'm well researched, always work quickly and intuitively as my main goal is to consistently deliver beautiful, smart and effective creative to all of my clients.
For 3.5 years I was an instrumental designer for the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympic Games under the inspired leadership of the late Leo Obstbaum. One of Leo's biggest teachings was that we should all remember "...the only thing that matters in life is if you do or do not [do] things with your heart." Those words will forever ring true in everything I do, whether I'm designing for a client, myself, or peeling an orange.
